Lowest monthly payments

Adjustable balloon

Set higher or lower to suit you, subject to underwriting.

What is Lease Purchase?

Lease Purchase works in a similar way to PCP: you pay a deposit, lower monthly payments, and there's a balloon payment at the end. The key difference is there's no Guaranteed Future Value. At the end of the agreement, the balloon must be cleared, either by paying it, selling or part-exchanging the car and using the proceeds, or refinancing it.

Why Lease Purchase for high-value cars

  • Specialist lenders who focus on high-end vehicles, often with more competitive terms and stronger residual values than standard lenders
  • Often the lowest monthly payments available on high-value cars
  • Wider vehicle age range, including older prestige cars, modern classics and even classics, subject to lender criteria
  • Change car early, or refinance during or at the end of the agreement
  • Access to high-net-worth finance options for eligible customers

Equity at the end

If your car is worth more than the balloon when you sell or part-exchange it, the difference is your equity to put towards your next car. If it's worth less, you'll need to cover the difference.

Setting your balloon

Lenders calculate a sensible balloon based on the car and the agreement. Subject to underwriting, it can often be adjusted to suit you:

  • A higher balloon means lower monthly payments, but more to clear at the end
  • A lower balloon means higher monthly payments, but less to clear at the end

We'll talk you through what works best for your car and your plans.

Who Lease Purchase suits

Buyers of cars typically above £50,000, especially supercars, high-performance cars and luxury SUVs. Think a well-specced Porsche 911. It works best on cars that hold their value well rather than ones likely to drop sharply, because the balloon needs to be realistic compared with what the car will be worth at the end.

Things to consider

  • There's no Guaranteed Future Value, so you carry the risk if the car's value falls
  • The balloon payment must be cleared at the end of the agreement
  • If the car is worth less than the balloon, you'll need to pay the difference
  • All finance is subject to status and income

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between Lease Purchase and PCP?

They're very similar, but PCP includes a Guaranteed Future Value and the option to hand the car back. Lease Purchase doesn't, which is why specialist lenders can often offer stronger terms on high-value cars.

Can I get Lease Purchase on an older car?

Often, yes. Lease Purchase lenders can fund older prestige cars, modern classics and classics, subject to their criteria.

Can I change car early?

Yes. You can settle or refinance the agreement at any time.
